Our Inspiration

It wouldn't surprise you to hear that the concept for Cocktail Kickboards was born in the water; but just how the idea came to be, well...            see for yourself.

The Design

Despite being an early, undersized prototype, "Beverage Shark" performed to levels that exceeded many floating drink holders already on the market.  We knew we had tremendous potential on our hands if we designed something that took the core elements of Beverage Shark to the next level.

Stable, Even

When Imbalanced

Taking what we learned from Beverage Shark, we set out to design a product that performed to the highest levels possible. This started by taking the triangular design on the shark and expanding on it.

Our patent-pending design kept a triangular form, but made it larger, and added a fourth slot for a final 3-around-1 layout that placed the central hole in the exact center point of the board's mass. The surrounding 3 slots were then placed equidistant from the central hole in a triangular layout, resulting in an extremely stable footprint. All aspects of position and placement were taken into consideration, including not wanting any of the holes/slots to reside too close to the board's edge, as that would negatively impact stability.

The end result was a design that allows Cocktail Kickboards to securely house a single, very large tumbler without losing their balance. Very few products on the market can match the stability found in Cocktail Kickboards.

Max Instability Test

Building on knowledge we gained from both the Beverage Shark prototype and our initial Cocktail Kickboard prototype, we were able to produce Cocktail Kickboards with tremendous stability.

A test we ran on numerous occasions was a max instability test. This test had us filling a large tumbler (30+ ounces) with just liquid, and placing it into one of the rear cupholders of a Cocktail Kickboard. We then would have a cannonballing performed to the side opposite of where the cup was placed.

This test put the kickboard in the least stable position possible in terms of where the tumbler was placed, and where the impact of the cannonball came from.

In the video below, see how the final Cocktail Kickboard design performed with this test, and then see how another floating table on the market handled just handled having the same tumbler simply placed onto it...

But Wait,

There's More!!!

In addition to providing the highest level of stability possible, we also sought to make Cocktail Kickboards the most accommodating floating beverage holder it could be. This meant creating perimeter cupholders with a beveled wall to allow a far broader range of secure fit than what you'll find elsewhere.

This also meant going to another level by including "skinny can" adapters for the cupholders. The use of skinny cans has skyrocketed with the popularity of low-carb beers and seltzers, so it was essential that we could include them on our fit list.

While many options exist to hold your drink in the water, we aren't sure there are any that can match the Cocktail Kickboards combination of stability and accommodation.

Tervis, Yeti, RTIC, Corkcicle, Hydro Flask, BruMate, FrostBuddy, Solo Cups, wine tumblers, bottles, cans (regular & skinny)... the list runs long.

We can't promise Cocktail Kickboards can fit everything; but we are confident the variety it can accommodate will be hard to beat.

The goal was to accommodate as many drink containers as possible

Made for water,

functional ANYWHERE!

While Cocktail Kickboards certainly shine in the water, their use goes far beyond it...

- an instant, easy console between lounge chairs, at a picnic, or even on the couch

- poolside to keep drinks secure

- at the beach as an easy spot for drinks that doesn't block the cooler, AND as a way to protect items from a sneaky tide

- in a kayak or similar device

- as an actual kickboard!
